On a night at my local cigar bar, I was hanging out with a friend discussing the finer things of life while enjoying a good cigar and snifter of scotch when the way he was holding his cigar struck me. I told him “Don’t move”, snapped up my phone and took a quick photo as inspiration for this piece. The night was unplanned, just happened to meet him up there and now he is ensconced forever. Well, his hand and cigar anyway. 🙂
This one was an Acrylic Background with the subject in Oil. I use acrylic sometimes to cover the canvas more quickly before I lose my energy for the painting.
Ready to hang, sides painted on a gallery wrap canvas.
oil and acrylic.
